Our Core Values

We believe that God never lies. (Titus 1:2) We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word. God’s Word is without error. All scripture is “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17) We believe that God’s Word stands over any of man’s “common sense” or worldly “wisdom.” (Proverbs 21:30; 1 Cor. 3:19 & 20) These truths dictate all other core values of our church that are stated below.

We believe that salvation is through Christ alone. We are all sinners. (Rom 3:23) Sin separates us from God, because He is perfectly righteous. (Romans 6:23) Jesus Christ died on the cross to atone for our sins (Romans 5:8, 1 Peter 3:18) and then literally rose from the dead three days later. We cannot do anything to atone for our sins, nothing. (Ephesians 2: 8&9; Titus 3:5) We must make a personal decision to believe in Christ and the sacrifice He made for us on the cross. (John 3:16; Acts 16:30&31; Romans 10: 9) When we do, God forgives us of our sins, past and future. (Col. 2: 13-14) We then become his children. (Romans 8:15; John 1:12) At the moment we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit come to live inside us. (Acts 2:38, 1 Cor. 3:16 & 6:19) The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin in our lives, reveals God and His will to us, and enables us to live in obedience to our Father. (Ephesians 3:16-19, 1 Cor. 2:9-13, Romans 8:14 & 26, John 14:26, John 16:5-15) True believers have assurance of living with Him for eternity in heaven- nothing, at all, can change that or “separate us from the love of God.” (Romans 8:38-39)

We believe in a literal heaven and hell and a final judgment of unbelievers at the Great White Throne. (Revelation 4 and 20:11-15)

We believe in the triune God: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; I Tim. 3:16)

We believe that all believers in Christ should mature in their relationship with Him through devotion to Scripture, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. Their lives should demonstrate this maturity by bearing fruit in Christ through the enablement of the Holy Spirit, especially in Christ like love for others (1 Cor. 13:4-8, 13; John 13:34-35). Believers have been granted divine power for everything they need pertaining to living a godly life. (2 Peter 1:3)

We believe God has given each believer spiritual gifts to be used to minister to others. (I Cor. 12)

We believe that the local church’s primary purpose is to spread the gospel and equip believers to mature in their walk with our Savior. (Matthew 28:19&20)

We believe in the New Testament’s leadership structure for the church, including Elders. We also believe that leaders in our church should meet Biblical qualifications, be mature believers led by the Holy Spirit, and have a genuine heart for the well-being of believers in our local church, as well as for reaching the lost. (Titus 1: 5-9; 1 Peter 5: 1-3)

We believe in corporate worship services. We also believe in the importance of small group Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. (Hebrews 10:24-25; Acts 2:46-47; Proverbs 27:17)

We believe in the Biblical commands of Jesus for believers and the New Testament church. Believers are to take the Lord’s Supper to remember Christ’s amazing sacrifice for us. (I Cor. 11:24-26; Matthew 26: 26-29) New believers are to publicly profess their faith in Christ through baptism. (Romans 6:3-6; Acts 2:41)

We believe that believers should give financially to God’s work, including to their local church. Giving should not be out of compulsion or to impress men. In fact, giving to God’s work should be prayerfully disciplined (prayerfully planned). Giving should be out of gratitude to our Savior and Father. It should be generous and even sacrificial. (2 Cor. 9:7; Matthew 6:2-4; Luke 6:38)

We believe in the sanctity of the Biblical family structure. Marriage is between a man and a woman. (Matthew 19:4-6)

We believe in the sanctity of life, starting at conception. (Psalm 139:13-16)

We believe in a literal creation. “In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the earth”. We believe that God spoke all living creation into existence (Genesis 1 and 2, Hebrews 11:3)
